my parents came to visit, Easter, and lots of pictures!

My parents came out last week during Nick's spring break! We had all sorts of fun things planned, like New York City & Palmyra... but Madeline caught some awful stomach bug and started getting sick on Easter. Then my mom caught it and my dad had some sort of head cold as well. Such a bummer! We basically just hung out. Luckily, we snuck a little trip to DC before everyone started getting sick. Towards the end of their stay, we also got to go to Amish country, so that was fun! I feel bad everyone was sick! They'll just have to come back. :) After everyone left, I totally caught the bug too. Nick was the only one that didn't get sick. I''m so glad my parents were able to come out here, though! We had fun despite all the sickys!

We found this AWESOME spot of the philly skyline one night. I quickly snapped these on my iphone and don't mind Madeline... sometimes we allow her to look homeless. haha. 

My dad rented us all bikes for a tour around DC! Madeline wasn't quite sure about this at first, but she warmed up to it. 

The president and his posse totally passed  us at a red light. The cops stopped all traffic so they could pass and there was a helicopter overhead and everything. CRAZY. 

We ended the day seeing the beautiful washington DC temple & some yummy cafe rio for dinner. Yum! 

The Saturday before Easter, the kiddos in our ward did an easter egg hunt. SO many cute babies everywhere. Madeline had a lot of fun! I'm glad she wasn't sick at this point.

Nick and I are cub scout masters in our ward. The boys just adore Nick. We have spoken and participated in many of their baptisms. We are so honored each time. Nick really is such a wonderful leader & example.
