A tragic thing...

Yesterday morning, a dear family friend, Madison (13) was walking to the bus stop in her neighborhood in Orem. As she was doing so, a car came flying around the corner and hit her. She died not too long after due to serious head trauma. :(

The sad thing about this story is this wasn't an ordinary driver that hit her... this was another 13 year old who took her aunt's car without permission and decided to go on a joy ride that morning. Instead of hitting the breaks when she turned, she hit the gas... and sadly, little Madison's life ended as a result. These two girls were classmates and knew each other.

This family has been through SO much over the past few years. Madison's dad was killed a few years ago in a car accident. Can you imagine how her mom and sisters are feeling? Please pray for their family.

Madison's favorite color was pink. I was asked to go to her school today to take pictures of all her friends wearing pink. I am leaving soon to do so, and I think it's going to break my heart. It makes me so sad that a sweet little girl, like Madison, is no longer with us because of a tragic mistake. My heart also goes out to the girl who hit her and her family as well. She's so young... and because of one decision, her life is forever changed.
