Festival of Colors 2009

Last year, we went to the Festival Of Colors in Spanish Fork. It was an absolute riot. We had a blast. You better BELIEVE I'm going again.... I'm excited to bring my dear husband along this time. It's coming up next month, (March 28th) so mark your calendars.

Here's what it's about:

"In India Holi announces the arrival of spring and the passing of winter. It is a festival that breathes an atmosphere of social merriment. People bury their hatchets with a warm embrace and throw their worries to the wind. Every nook and corner presents a typically colorful sight. Young and old alike are covered with colors (red, green, yellow, blue, black and silver). People in small groups are seen singing, dancing and throwing colors on each other.

There will be musical interludes, the lighting of a bonfire, burning of an effigy, and the throwing of dry colors on friends and foe alike. The dry powders supplied by the temple are non stain, but still guests are cautioned not to wear their “Saturday Best.”

I really think they love the fact that half of Brigham Young University  shows up to this event every year. I just love to go because I can REALLY practice my photography skills and get some awesome shots of all the rediculously colored, bright people everywhere. I don't know about all the "throwing my worries into the wind" by throwing dyed flour orediel... but it's a lot of fun nonetheless.

Here's some pictures from last March:

How fun! I love things like that. That is why living in Provo is so fun!
